Coach Mark provides a service like none other in the local swimming community. Not just small group instruction(swim camp), but he is the ONLY coach for both the swim camp as well as the private lessons. Your swimmer will not be coached by assistant coaches with a varied level of experience or coaching education, but by Mark himself that brings 29 years of experience and coaching education to the pool deck. These services appeal to a wide range of swimmers. From novice competitors to national champions, age groupers to masters swimmers, Coach Mark has the tools to help you reach your swimming goals. The most popular services are shown below. If you would like to schedule a lesson, or register for the Fall/Winter/Spring Camp, call or text Coach Mark @ 301-655-9247(text preferred).
Skills Camp for Competitive Swimmers
Coach Mark's Swim Camp for competitive swimmers is an excellent way to supplement club, summer-league, high school, masters, college or triathalon swimming. Because of the popularity of swimming in the DC Metro area, most swim clubs operate at full, or even beyond full capacity. The professional swim coaches of these local clubs do an outstanding job of handling such a large population of swimmers. However, as most of you are aware, in addition to crowded lanes, age group swimmers are often taught by the youngest and least experienced coaches on staff. Between overcrowding and novice coaching, there is a need for experienced coaches to TEACH swimmers how to be effective in the water. That is what Coach Mark does best. If you would like to see how he approaches the sport, ask to watch a private consultation session or come to a clinic session at our Swim Camp.
If swimmers would like to upgrade their camp experience, they can swim two clinics per week, Sunday afternoon and Friday eve.. The Swim Camp is held at the Quince Orchard Swim Club in Gaithersburg from late September through mid-May. Although the camp runs for 30-32 weeks, it consists of 25 clinic sessions over that 30-32 week period of time. Click on the Registration Form link on the navigation bar to the left, which will lead you to a downloadable registration form.

Private learning sessions provide swimmers with a warm, quiet and safe environment to limit distraction and enable them to focus on the changes they need to make to be more efficient and effective in the water. If you would like to meet Mark and watch him work, send him a text or email and he will set up a place and time so you can see why so many swimmers seek out his help.
ALL private lessons are being taught at the Quince Orchard Swim Club from October-March. April through September, lessons are given at Coach Mark's heated, 2 lane, 40ft. pool in Mt. Airy.

An exciting new service Mark has added that allows swimmers have their swimming evaluated, followed by clear instructions that will allow the swimmer to make corrections to their stroke simply by submitting a video/videos via email. Swimmers will receive a written summary of what they are doing correctly as well as what they can do to improve their stroke. Additionally, because of advances in technology, swimmers can communicate with Coach Mark LIVE from a remote location via Skype or another talk/video platform, such as FaceTime. In this case, swimmers will need an assistant with them to hold the device allowing for 2 way communication between coach and swimmer.
Below is an example of changes that were made to a swimmers stroke.
Fee: $50/video(1 stroke per video)
