Tips from Coach Mark
Count your strokes! Swimmers that have the ability to "hold" water and shape their body in such a way that they move faster and farther through the water, take fewer strokes. Everyone is different and at a different place in their development, but by counting strokes you get instant feedback. If you can swim at the same speed and lower your stroke count, you are swimming more effectively. A good starting point is 10-15-10-15 in IM order. 10 strokes/cycles in the breast and fly and 15 strokes in the free and back. Once there, try to work down to 8-12-8-12, again, in IM order. Start counting your way to better swimming.
Have fun and I'll see you on deck!
